News: CES: PC Graphics Giant Nvidia Powers BMW Visual Displays

From CES this year a popular trend emerging is improved connectivity and feature packed infotainment systems. Computer graphics giant Nvidia has now teamed with BMW and obviously has its sights on the mobile electronics industry.

Already powering Audi navigation graphics, Nvidia will now power the graphics in all of its infotainment systems. Nvidia says it's GPU will enable 1280x600 resolutions graphics in all BMW's next generation systems, similar to it's partnership with Audi which allows rich 3D building and landscape rendering.

A prototype of this new system is currently on display in a BMW 5-series at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.

BMW has announced this partnership will extend to all models of their vehicle line-up and in the company's other brands including Mini and Rolls-Royce.

With all of the OEM's exciting improvements in feature packed units, high quality graphics and connectivity, we wonder what aftermarket brands are going to do to keep up?
