News: Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 Processor Sneak Preview
- Sunday 16th January, 2011
In recent article covering the growing trend of high end OEM Integration products I have discussed what is currently available, including the highly anticipated PXA-H800 processor from Alpine. The other brand due for an update is Rockford Fosgate as their 3SIXTY.1 and 3SIXTY.2 offerings have been around for a few years now. Enter the 3SIXTY.3.
The 3SIXTY.3 is a standalone, full featured model in the3SIXTY processor range for 2011. Popularity of the higher featured processor models has seen the demise of the more entry level 3SIXTY.1 and entry level buyers should now take a look at the RF-BLD. This is a simple high level speaker or RCA input, two channel balanced line driver that can turn on via music sense; another good item in its own right.
I should point out that this information is still subject to change and that the photos supplied are true spy photos (that’s right, we give you the real scoop here at MEA). The product is still in the engineering phase and may be tweaked slightly in looks and specification before final release.
Overview
As factory head units and infotainment systems get more integrated and complicated it is getting increasingly difficult to replace or upgrade the system. OEM integration devices such as the new 3SIXTY.3 allow the vehicle owner to keep integrated functions such as climate control, navigation and mobile phone integration. The 3SIXTY.3 processor gives the owner the freedom to choose their own speakers, while retaining the latest Bluetooth, multi-media device and volume control from the steering wheel.
